S.A.I.L. (Staying Active and Independent for Life)

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is a strength, balance and fitness program for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance and fitness is the single most important activity adults can do to stay active and reduce their chances of falling. The entire curriculum of activities in the Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) program can help improve strength and balance, if done regularly. The class consists of 24 one-hour long sessions. Participants must commit to at least 16 of the 24 sessions to register. Free for YMCA members AND Non-Members.

Go the Distance

  • January 15th - February 24th
    • Put on the miles at the Y!
      • Run, walk, bike, swim or any combination! Miles will be converted to points and posted alongside the walking track. 
    • Registration Fee is $5.00
    • Grand Prize is $100 in Chamber Bucks

Yin Yoga 

  • January 29th and February 19th 
    • 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
    • Please join Dee in this slow meditative practice. 
    • This class will consist of mostly seated on the floor forward folds and poses will be held for 3 to 5 minutes
      • ability to sit comfortably on the floor is required
    • Please dress in warm layers and bring a pair of cozy socks
    • Pre-registration is required

Writers Workshop
