Exciting News: YMCA Merger Announced

Dear YMCA Members,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Today, I am excited to share a significant development that will shape the future of our YMCA community.

After careful consideration and a unanimous joint board vote, we are excited to announce the intent to merge the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties with the Fergus Falls Area Family YMCA. This decision is driven by our shared commitment to creating a more resilient, connected, and vibrant YMCA community that can better serve your needs.

Your membership experience and program offerings will only strengthen and enhance through the coming together of our two Ys. We are grateful for your involvement at our Y and look forward to continuing to help you and your family learn, grow and thrive. We are actively working towards this transition to ensure a seamless and positive experience for all our members.

Key Points about the Merger:

• Expanded Membership Benefits: When the merger is complete, you can expect to have access to facilities in both Fargo and Fergus Falls. Additionally, you'll enjoy member rates for programming at our locations, fostering a more inclusive and dynamic community.
• Past Collaboration: Over the past two years, the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties and the Fergus Falls Area Family YMCA have been in a management agreement. This collaboration has laid the foundation for the merger, fostering a cooperative environment that will contribute to the success of our unified YMCA community.
• Preservation of Local Branch Identity: Each location will maintain its unique atmosphere, and our focus on serving and strengthening the communities we are part of will remain unchanged.
• No Anticipated Fee Increases: We do not foresee any membership or program fee increases resulting from this merger. Our annual review process, guided by our dedicated staff and board, will continue to set rates based on the operational costs of our facilities and programs.
