Cardio & Cardio/Strength

Insanity
Push yourself past your limits in this cardio-based total body conditioning class. Packed with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training to get you into the best shape possible. No equipment or weights used. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Indoor Group Cycling
Take a ride with us in this cardiovascular endurance workout. Get your heart rate up as you pedal through long flats, hill climbs and sprint intervals. A water bottle, towel and fitted clothing are recommended. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Mind & Body

Pilates
Build strength, increase flexibility, and deepen body awareness with pilates. Each movement emphasizes purpose, body alignment, and breathing. In this highly effective conditioning class you will work your whole body. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Candlelight Restorative Yoga 

Gentle Movements, deep breathing, intention setting, and supported postures are key to this restorative practice. Assistance will be offered for propping and modifying each posture. Tam will hold space after practice for anyone who wishes to stay longer to meditate and/or journal. Pre-registration is required. Classes will be offered on the first Tuesday of each month in March, April, and May. 

Yin Yoga
Yin is a slow, meditative practice using long holds to turn inward and tune into the body. This mostly seated practice is designed to enhance the natural range of motion in the joints.  Releasing the deep layers of connective tissue, and fascia creates more ease in your yoga practice and in seated meditation. This class will be offered June 24th and August 26th.   Pre-registration is required. 

Chair Yoga
Meditation. Breathwork. Low-impact stretching and strengthening. All movements and postures will be accessed safely from standing or seated in a chair. This class is suitable for anyone interested in moving bodies in yoga without getting down on the floor. Mats are not required and shoes may be worn.

Weekday Morning Yoga
Build strength and increase flexibility and balance in this energized, accessible hatha-based class. All levels are welcome. 

Saturday Morning Yoga
Taught on rotation by the YMCA's certified yoga instructors. Class structure will vary by instructor. All levels are welcome. 

Noon Hour Power Yoga (12:10 - 12:50pm)
Come to the mat for this continuous flow class. There will be minimal verbal cueing as we execute a strong and steady posture progression with continuous flow.  Limited holds! This class starts strong and has a solid 30 minutes of movement with a brief cool down at the end. Some yoga experience is recommended. 

Vinaysa Slow Flow Yoga
Join Tam in this vinyasa flow class where we will link breath, movement and poses together into a slow steady flow.  Transitions will be gently paced and poses will be held a little longer allowing the practitioner plenty of time to sink deeper into the pose and the breath. This class is suitable for all levels. 

Strength, Stretch & Core

BodyPump
Strengthen, tone and define every muscle in your body in this revolutionary weight-training workout. This resistance training program uses bar and hand weights to burn fat and sculpt lean muscles. 

TRX Suspension Training
Suspension training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. This thirty-minute class delivers a fast and effective total body workout. You will learn how to modify, unload and/or add intensity to your workout. Suitable for all fitness levels. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Aquatic Aerobics

Aqua Energy
A low impact but high energy water fitness class. Water, pool noodles and hand buoys are used as resistance to enhance workouts. This class is designed to improve flexibility, range of motion, strength, muscle tone and cardiovascular endurance. Each workout includes a full body warmup, aerobic movements, core/arm/leg strengthening, balance work, cool down and stretching. All our instructors bring a unique flavor to this energizing class! 

Aqua Fun & Fit
A cardio, toning and muscle conditioning class which incorporates stretching, full range of motion training and yoga cool down techniques. The goal is health and wellness using the multi-directional resistance of water. This class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Rise & Grind
This is a high intensity class with inspiration pulled from boxing and combat training! Water, hand buoys and pool noodles are used as resistance. This is a great option for anyone looking to achieve a bit of sweat from an aquatic class.

Splash & Groove
A fitness class that combines the elements of dance and water aerobics to create a fun full body workout to the hit songs of the decades. Suitable to all levels and abilities so everyone can find success!

Active Older Adult

S.A.I.L. (Staying Active & Independent for Life)
SAIL is an evidence-based program designed to improve and preserve muscle strength and balance as we age. Each class includes a segment focusing on aerobics, balance, strength, stretching, and education on fall prevention. All exercises can be done from seated or standing. 

Chair Yoga
Meditation. Breathwork. Low-impact stretching and strengthening. All movements and postures will be accessed safely from standing or seated in a chair. This class is suitable for anyone interested in moving bodies in yoga without getting down on the floor. Mats are not required and shoes may be worn.

Functional Fitness
This is a great active older adult circuit-style class. It includes a wide variety of movements and equipment to enhance and improve your cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility. 

Small Group Personal Training Classes (fee-based):

Trainer-led classes are fee-based and run in monthly sessions. Fees vary based on the total days in session. Registration and payment must be made in full prior to the start of the session. You may transfer your spot in class to another YMCA member if you are unable to attend. No fee adjustments will otherwise be made. Member and potential member walk-in rates are available, space permitting. Inquire at Member Services or by calling 218.739.4489
