Swim, Sports & Play (formerly called Homeschool Gym and Swim) is a co-ed physical education program designed to provide home school or distance/hybrid learning students an opportunity to strengthen their motor skills in a safe and fun environment. The goal of the program is to help each student understand the importance of good health, fair play, and teamwork. Because every child learns and develops at different levels, YMCA coaches adapt the structured activities to meet each child’s needs.
Bring the children in for some physical activity as we play structured games in the gymnasium such as dodgeball, soccer, noodle tag games, etc. Children will also spend time in the swimming pool, learning skills and playing games. The children will spend 40 minutes in the gym from 2:00-2:40pm and then 45 minutes in the pool from 2:45-3:30pm. It is our priority to make sure we are offering activities that keep the children safe and healthy.
Educator/parent/guardian policy: A parent must come into the building and sign each child in and out every Friday. Students are not allowed to do this for themselves.
Session 1: October 1 - November 19
Session 2: December 3 - February 4 (No class on Dec. 24 & Dec. 31)
Session 3: February 11 - April 1
When: Fridays 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Ages: 5-17 years old
