The Fergus Falls Area Family YMCA opened the doors on Wednesday, June 17. We will be opening our spaces in phases so the Y might look a bit different when you visit. Click the link below to read our most recent member update email on the YMCA reopening.

A Message from our Executive Director, Eric Price:


We are running the monthly draft in hopes that our members continue to support the purpose and mission of the Y. Without your support, we would not have been able to pivot our resources to serve essential service employees and fulfill their need for child care. 

We also understand that staying an active member may not be possible for your family. We have created a special COVID-19 HOLD, which pauses your membership for a maximum period of time through October 31, 2020 without any fees. Please click HERE to access the link for the membership hold form (form only good through October 15, 2020).

If you wish to extend your membership hold beyond October 31st, we can put it on hold for a maximum of 3 months per year for a $5/month. The COVID hold we offered does not factor into the maximum hold of 3 months per year. To put your membership on hold, you must visit the YMCA and complete a hold form. For this hold to begin at the start of the next month, the hold form must be completed by the 20th of the month prior. If you require accommodations to complete the form or cannot visit the YMCA in person, please email 

Memberships that are paid in full on an annual or short term basis can be extended by putting the membership on hold and paying the $5/month fee.


Several of our fall programs have been canceled or altered due to COVID-19 and physical distancing requirements of 6 feet. We plan to provide refunds to families for program session dates that are canceled due to COVID-19. Please check back for more information on fall programs.

Should you choose to direct your membership fees or other amount as a donation to the YMCA, here’s what your dollars would be going to help:

  • Keeping our school age child care operational for those in our community with essential personnel roles.
  • Offering a safe space for lunch pick up from the school district.
  • Retaining the staff members we need to keep our organization afloat.
  • Ensuring that your YMCA is here for you when it’s time to return.
